Mental health problems in adolescents and teens impact the entire family. There are various adolescent mental health treatment programs available for young people and their families, such as adolescent intensive outpatient program treatment, that can offer support, promote healing, and provide hope for the future.
If your adolescent or teenager is having a difficult time and regular outpatient care isn’t enough, think about trying an intensive outpatient program (IOP). These programs are made for young people who need regular assistance in handling their mental health. At Beyond Healthcare, our adolescent IOP treatment provides support to teens multiple times a week after school.
Ohio Mental Health Services for Adolescents and Teens
Our organization provides mental health assistance to adolescents and young teens aged 11 to 17. We also offer support to families in accessing the help they need for their mental health and family issues. Our program involves a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that not only identifies areas of difficulty but also recognizes strengths-based solutions that the entire family can apply. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual and may include a range of approaches, including the following:
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Family therapy
- Psychiatry
- Additional specialized services as needed
- Experiential therapy
These therapies are a crucial part of the healing process. Each offers a different way toward guiding teens to improved mental health.
About Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program Treatment
Our teen IOP is available three days a week after school Each IOP group consists of eight to 12 teenagers of similar ages. Intensive outpatient programming aims to support your teenager’s mental health and help them manage their social relationships, family duties, school, and other responsibilities. Additionally, the program also offers therapy sessions as needed and medication management.
Teen IOP treatment typically lasts for six to eight weeks, although the exact length may vary depending on your adolescent’s individual progress. While it is a less intensive level of care compared to partial hospitalization programs, we will continuously monitor your teenager’s progress toward their goals and keep you informed of their progress.
In addition to attending intensive outpatient treatment in Ohio, parents have the option to enroll their teenager in individual therapy and medication management services with Beyond Healthcare. Families also participate in family therapy sessions during the IOP at Beachwood to improve communication and address daily challenges.
What’s the Difference Between Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Programs?
At Beyond Healthcare, “day treatment” and “intensive outpatient program” mean the same thing. During our adolescent intensive outpatient program treatment, your teen can enhance their self-esteem and regulate their emotions. Our IOP therapists are accessible after school and can assist your teen with various concerns.
Beyond Healthcare offers an adolescent intensive outpatient treatment program that effectively addresses various mental health conditions such as:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- ADHD
- Mood disorders
- Family transitions such as moving or divorce
- Suicidal thoughts
- Addictions and co-occurring disorders
- Physical, sexual, or emotional trauma
- Grief and loss
- Self-harm
- Relationship problems
- LGBTQ+-related challenges and issues
If your teenager is experiencing moderate mental health symptoms and does not harm themselves or have thoughts of suicide, they might find a teen IOP helpful. During adolescent intensive outpatient program treatment, patients receive essential mental health support a few times a week while still being able to maintain their daily routine.
